Thank you for your interest in the Richland School District. Please read the following requirements carefully. The main body of the application is to be filled out online and you will submit it electronically. There are a number of supplemental items which must be submitted separately in order for your application to be complete (see below). Careful attention to the application and to providing all of the information requested is the most important step in applying for any position. Everything you wish to have considered needs to appear in the application. Remember you are competing with all other applicants for available positions. Submission of the online application makes you an active candidate; however, in order for your application to be complete and considered for open positions all supplementary information must be received before the position closes. You will receive email notification when all information to complete your application has been received.
Position openings are posted on this online application system as well as through our web site: http://www.rsd.edu.
To use the Online Application to apply for a certificated position follow the procedures listed below (You may wish to print these procedures for quick reference.):

Application Requirements:
1. Employment Application Form. Click on Application and complete each of the tabbed sections beginning with Base Info. Fill out the remaining sections on the Application Menu including Degrees, Certificate/License, Skills, Experience, Preferences, and References. When completing the Experience section please include your teaching and administrative experience as part of your employment history.
2. Inserts. Professional Reference form. Please print this form and provide it to the three references of your choice.
3. General Cover Letter. Prepare a general cover letter stating the positions in which you are interested and your qualifications for the positions. Please include why you wish to work for the Richland School District.
4. Current Resume. A resume of your work experience, education, certifications, and special skills must be included. This will help to “fill in the gaps” left by the application.
5. Letters of Recommendation or College Placement File. At least three (3) current teaching/administrative-related recommendations will be required. Your college placement file may also be submitted directly to our Human Resources office, however if letters of recommendation in your file were not written in the previous 18 months, at least three (3) new letters of recommendations or Professional Reference forms (see inserts) will be required. Your application is considered incomplete without them.
6. Copies of College Transcripts. Copies of all transcripts are required and are helpful in the screening process and are not normally included in your placement file. (Official transcripts will be required upon employment.)
7. Copy of Washington State Certificate. If you have not received your certificate, indicate when you expect to receive it and submit a copy immediately upon receipt. If you have certificates from other States, copies of those should also be submitted.
8. Skills/Interests: Be sure to click on Tab 5 "Skills" to enter information related to your experiences, skills and/or interest area. On this tab you will have the option to enter information related to 1) Advising (e.g. student activities or leadership activities such as mentor teacher, committee work, teacher leader, department chair, grant development); 2) Coaching (enter all coaching interests); 3) Training (Enter training you have completed or skills attained as a result of training by selecting from the drop down choices); 4) Language.
Tests: Enter all information related to tests taken (e.g. Praxis or West-B). If you have taken any of these tests, proof of scores must be submitted.
9. Submit Application. DO NOT leave the application system without completing the Submit tab. In this tab you will respond to a background/disclosure statement and complete your application with an electronic signature. Your application will not be considered unless you complete this activity.
Please Note: If you do not complete your application and transmit it within ninety (90) days, it will be removed from our online system.
Upon completion of your application, you can click on Summary and review and print a copy of your application. When you are ready to transmit your application, click the Transmit tab. You will then need to read the Certification, Authorization and Release Agreement and type YES in caps if you agree. Then click on Submit and your application will be transmitted.
